Australian Alps Walking Track Statistics?

Postby andyszollosi » Thu 05 Mar, 2015 10:19 am

G'day!

Does anyone know how many people walk the full length of the Australian Alps Walking Track each year?

I was not able to find this information online, although I chatted to a fellow through walker last year who told me about 100 people a year give it a crack and about half this number make it, end to end. This sounds about right, but can anyone confirm this?

Just spoke to the Namadgi visitors Centre and they said it was 50 people a year do the walk. Some years more some less. Didn't know about the failure rate though.
