It was the one spot I missed on the Tour Mt Blanc.
Due to a thunderstorm we took the lower level.

Next is in the UK

I looked at that photo and thought that it sure looks like my neck of the woods, maybe Yosemite Valley. And sure enough, when I blow up your photo it's written right there!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzXRgcCV7Uc

I've spent, I don't know, hundreds of days in Yosemite Valley but I wasn't even aware of the existence of this place. Cool bit of history.

Edit: Ha! You beat me while I was watching the video and reading about it!

Well done all. I've only spent a couple of days wandering around Yosemite Valley but I think you are fortunate to have such a stunning place to hike.
Sure, it gets crowded and loved to death but in spite of that such a wonderful place to visit. I knew this was an historic building but otherwise unaware of the significance (yes, cool bit of history - enjoyed and enlightened by the video). I was simply wandering between hiking trails when I saw the four rangers on horseback and just had to snap that shot.

Anyway over to Tyreless as the first correct answer.

I liked Orion's video so over to Orion.

Right mountain range but wrong popular track. We didn't make it to Tre Cimi as my partner slipped, did a somersault off the track, and broke her leg.

Sorry guys - my preamble was probably misleading. But indeed, with limited photo access I initially thought I was in Italy, but some reflection had me ruling that out. A closer look at my photo sequence helped me realise this is on the French side at the last cable car station about to ascend up to Du Midi.

I have no clue where that river is ^^

Alta Via 1 is a pretty well documented walk with amazing scenery. I greatly prefer camping (I've never stayed in a hut in Tasmania) but in the Dolomites you have to stay in the "huts", which are more like hotels with dormitory sleeping. I was worried about that aspect but discovered that carrying a light day pack, showering each day, drinking beer and eating excellent food, having an espresso in the morning, etc., wasn't all that bad after all. Ha ha. I got used to it. :-)

My partner nearly took a long, long fall but fortunately ended up stopped by a tree. She was able to limp a couple of km on her broken ankle in order to reach a gravel road. From there I was able to call one of the lodges nearby and, via broken English, got them to call mountain rescue. They arrived via 4WD an hour or so later. The hospital was great, charged us essentially nothing, and her ankle healed well. Other than cutting our holiday in half everything worked out okay.

The photo has a few man made objects - which suggests the Colorado in the Grand Canyon - and out of view would be the Kaibab Suspension Bridge

Definitely the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon eggs. I think the Kaibab Suspension Bridge is probably a bit further east. Those signs could be related to rafting, not sure. I actually took this from high on the South Rim trail near the visitor centre, with a very long zoom, on arrival at GC. Hiked down to Plateau Point in the inner canyon the next day.

Yes - I see. It is a bit east - at the point where the Bright Angel Trail meets the river. Not far from Pipe Creek Rest House.

Next one is an aerial shot in Africa
