Okay time for a new game - similar to the Aussie version but a bit further afield.
You will be guessing “Where is it” ... where is the subject in the photo. Of course, to do that you will need to work out what it is you are looking at. For added interest, but not required for a win, the poster can optional also ask you to guess “Where am I” ?
First to guess the right location gets to post the next picture of a location somewhere in an
A natural landscape (eg in a National Park) somewhere out of Australia.. Please to post a picture with a good quality skyline or with heaps of visual clues to allow players to work out where the picture was taken. A fast game is a fun game.
Players can ask questions and the picture owner can give clues. If you guess correctly but don't wish to post a picture, then just give your turn to someone else.
Game Rules
Please take a moment to read the rules from the Aussie games - same idea GAME RULES
Since Wayno suggested this new comp (
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=18947) he gets to kick it off with the first photo. Good luck to you all
Over to you Wayno.
Happy new Year.

Ok, heres a starter see how you go, name the track this is taken on. if theres no takers or you're wide of the mark i'll gie some hints to narrow it down to make it easier or add another photo or two.. remember this is not aus or tasmania... and its somewhere that at least some forum members will have been on their trips around the globe. its not some obscure place you've never likely heard of before so it is solveable...\

Fri 02 Jan, 2015 11:58 am
No idea, but I'll guess: Milford Track ?
Fri 02 Jan, 2015 12:03 pm
not a bad guess, incorrect, you're not desperately far away though.
Fri 02 Jan, 2015 12:30 pm
I thought it looked like the Routeburn - I'm guessing in fact one of the Rings locations.
Fri 02 Jan, 2015 12:35 pm
no incorrect. its a track that is reasonably well known in NZ and abroad... just not as well known as the milford or routeburn

absolutely not Graham, you're totally wrong,
its not the Keplar, it is in fact the Kepler track.
you're turn if you have an international photo for us to guess

I would suggest you indicate which country - or at least which continent you are in. That would match the Aussie competition where the state must be indicated when posting.

it's on an island...
Sat 03 Jan, 2015 11:24 am
Mt Ontake? BTW, the whole of Japan is an island.
Sat 03 Jan, 2015 11:32 am
japan is several islands. Ok your turn GPS if you have a photo.
Sat 03 Jan, 2015 1:50 pm
Indeed, quite a few islands for Japan.
So many to choose from across the globe...
Staying in East Asia and not going too cryptic is the following. The structure should be easy whilst the specific section of it could be a little more challenging for some, but highly relevant to the vista and the walking experience.
Simatai section of the Great Wall of China - 'Sky Bridge or Heavenly Ladder'.

Must be the great wall of China, but there are thousands of km of it! Are you on the wall itself or is there an actual walking track there?
Sat 03 Jan, 2015 6:00 pm
Is it the "Heavenly Ladder" in the Simatai section?
