Slow game. I'm in the Snowy Mountains and not on a track. There is a well frequented hut only a few kms away that was damaged by fire in the last few years.

Yes eggs, from below the Gungartan trig. Looking for the cleanest route back down to the trail through the Munyang (Whites River) Valley.

It would have been if I'd been in here yesterday - even without the clue.

You're on the Cobbler cliffs just before the scramble down and back up to the summit. Did you camp up there? There are some wonderful spots where you could pitch a tent near there, and even hauling water up would be worth it.

Yes NNW.
There was a school party of 8 on top [you can see them on top in the photo], but we were happy with a small sheltered spot just down the northern edge of the cliff line. [To the RHS of the photo]
We did it as an overnighter so we did not have to carry much water.
We went on to walk 3 days over Queens Spur/Buggery, Crosscut Saw, Magdala and the infamous Helicopter Spur.
I would have to say this was probably the best campsite we stayed at - especially for 360 views, but they were all good.

That's a good circuit. Some of the best country in the Victorian Alps.

This one should be even easier. Sunrise or sunset, hitting which Victorian peak?

YES!!! I should insist on the sunrise/sunset answer too, but finally getting a response after all this time is enough. Take it away, neil.

OK, I've been trying to sort where you are NNW. If it's sunrise are you on Bogong?

This is a really easy one in Victoria. Extra points for my approximate location.

Gonna get this wrong, but worth a try: Speculation from somewhere like McAllister Springs? Hmm, seems wrong...

Heya Neil,

Would you be looking at Feathertop again, from that track that follows the ridge north along the Razorback?

Camped out on Bogong West. It's quieter out there.

That one looks like Feathertop again, but from closer to Falls.

I think it's on the northern end of the fainters ridgeline, probably on big hill, as that looks like Bogong Jack spur in the foreground, and the angle of the NW spur puts the imager quite far north.

Yes, that sounds right. I don't recall getting that clear a view from Big Hill, but I didn't spend much time there.

No luck there FooTrack
Getting closer icefest and NNW but I am NW of Big Hill and a somewhat lower altitude.
I probably should have mentioned earlier the foreground is zoomed out.

That's what we are looking at jford and icefest almost has the location.
I'll give it to the nearest correct entry jford take it away.

It's from a place I stay at from time to time in Tawonga Sth.
I have far too many pictures of it and the various surrounding hills and valleys taken from there in every weather, light and snow condition.
