Gog Range? We certainly didn't see any peaks in the mist. It is scrubby in places, and it puts Barn on the right side of Emmett. But it's also probably wrong!

Have camped in that saddle before and been to it 4 or 5 times though.

No, but out of curiosity as I've never heard of that, where is it?

Edit - I wonder if you mean the Hamilton Range/Mt Robert? If so you need to head Nth.

I meant Mt Humboldt, but forgot the name and had no map on me...

Is that the Wellington Range. If it is you are looking down the Derwent Valley. Perhaps from Mt Olympus?

Edit: Actually the slopes on the left don't fit for Olympus. Try Mt Hugel.

Ahh now we're getting somewhere... indeed it is the Wellington range, not from Hugel but getting kind of close Graham!

From the angle on the Wellington range, wouldn't you have to be a fair bit further east than Hugel and the nearby peaks? More like the Central Plateau than the Southern Reserve . . .
