Alaska

Ive been wearing a Jack Wolfskin http://www.jack-wolfskin.com jacket my friend lent to me on my stroller walks. I find them amazing and only recently I bothered to google them on the web and am surprise to find that they're German. I also noticed this catalog which features their trip to Alaska.. It's officially on my wishlist now! :D PDF

Yep it's German, there are a few outdoor companies in Germany, however most produce in China, Vietnam... and so does Jack Wolfskin. JW make some good stuff for and mostly they are not as expensive, however as they have a huge product range, eg. tents, clothing, shoes, backpacks, sleeping bags, they are not as good as specialised companies. Many bushwalkers in Germany do not really like the company, but at the same time it is the most successful outdoor company in Germany. In fact there are many German outdoor brands;
Salewa: all sorts
Deuter: backpack
Vaude: all sorts
Meindl: boots
Lowa:boots
Hanwag:boots
Leki:walking poles
Jack Wolfskin: all sorts
Tatonka: all sorts
Edelrid:climbing
Markill:stove
Esbit:stove
Nordisk:all sorts
Xtend: tents
yeti:sleeping bags

most of the companies produce however in Asia or East Europe,which doesn't mean however that they sell bad products
