Counsel River and Beech Creek

Postby scrub boy » Fri 27 Jun, 2008 9:35 am

Hello, this will be good test, I have come up with concept for a walk in the lower sections of the Counsel River and Beech Creek and I am curious to see if anyone has been into this area. My idea is to use forestry roads off the Lyell Hwy to get as close to the Derwent as possible, then to drop down and cross the Derwent and then follow the Counsel River for a few kilometers and then cross over into the Beech Creek catchment to the west of a prominent hill, follow this downstream, cross the Derwent again and ascend back to the car. Simple.
cheers
