Mt King William 1 shelter

Postby L_Cham_67 » Mon 23 Dec, 2019 5:52 pm

Anyone know what happened to the dome shelter on the summit of Mt King William 1? A friend and I went up today and it was no longer there :?
Maybe it's been gone for a long time now haha, but I remember not being able to get inside on my first trip up KW1.

Huh, that's interesting.... I wonder if they are going to do it up and use it as another emergency shelter like the one on the Cradle-Barn cirque?
Nothing to see here.

It wasn't there when I was up there in September. No idea where it ended up.
That looks like a pad.

Apparently it's no longer needed, someone used to walk up every day during bushfire season to surveil, but with modern technology that daily monitoring isn't required. It wasn't there last time I went up, mid 2018.
