Meander Falls

Sunday 1st March was Meander Falls turn after Winterbrook the week before.
Once again promoted more as a "tourist walk" ,it is quite a steep and fairly tough walk due of course to walking across rocks and boulders pretty much from start to finish.
There were 9 people in total on the walk - some tourists , some walkers. The Victorian tourists , a young couple ..were quite surprised at the toughness of the walk .
The myrtle forests are superb. Arriving at the top , there was enough water falling to make it a worthwhile trip ..far more than at Winterbrook. It's another of the two tiered jobs , and its nice sitting at the base having lunch surrounded by various native pines ..King Billy , Pencil etc.
So , even though promoted more as a tourist walk , that shouldn't persuade true bushwalkers from making a trip out there. The tourist website actually promote it as a " winter walk" due to these falls forming ice crystals on cold frosty mornings.
There are several other lesser known walks in the area Smoko Falls and Mother Cummings Peak being some which may be worth exploring . next destination ..Mt Roland
