It's been thought of and a friend tried a simple version last season with no success. Very difficult, but agree would look awesome…

It might work if you build a temporary greenhouse to cover the fagus before it changes, to prevent altogether too much movement and blurring.
You'd most probably need some fagus on private land or a lot of haggling with parks to get permission.
