Transport to Cradle mountain in winter.

Mon 15 Apr, 2019 7:39 pm

Going to do the overland track in June but finding it very hard to find any transportation options. Anyone know of transport company that will take solo hikers to Cradle in June? Any info would be much appreciated.

Hey Adelaideguy, you may find this handy. Apparently Tassielink has suspended their service to the OT area due to some restructuring, but there are a variety of private services that do the transport to and from.

As a side note, 'm doing the trek myself June 1 - June 6/7, and am looking to book my transport soon. If you have any interest in sharing a ride to split the cost let me know... Otherwise, enjoy the trek!

McDermott's Coaches run a transfer service to Cradle Mountain Visitor's Centre from Launceston on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays during June.

We ended up booking with a lodge for late July, early August. Not cheap but very convenient.

They pick us up from Hobart airport, we get a room for the night, dinner/breakfast and a lift to the start. Same again in reverse a week later.

Hi,

My name is Marie. I’m travelling from Belgium. My partner and I want to start the OT 1st of June 2019.

We found a company that does the shuttle for $400/car (fits 4 hikers). We’re looking for another duo to share costs.

Contact me with a Private Message if willing to share car/costs.

Kind regards!
