Mount Ossa Run

Wed 12 Jul, 2017 11:34 am

From the Mercury

http://www.themercury.com.au/sport/olym ... 35e0e70f26

The goal was to see how many records he could break on the ascents of those peaks.

That included Tasmania’s Mount Ossa, a 48km wilderness bash longer than a marathon and of his seven runs, it was the longest, hardest and most dangerous.

It took 2hrs 54min to reach the summit – a new record. (From Arm River)

Interesting. I'd like to know more about his route choice. Bimberi appears to have been done from Pockets Saddle, Bogong via Staircase Spur. Kosciuszko presumably from Thredbo - surely he'd have been much quicker if he started from the chairlift. Surprised he got permission for the Meharry run - that can be tricky.
