In reading it wouldn't surprise me. Not anymore a thing particular to any nationality but to the value of the product almost everyone seems giddy to promote. I've had groups to whom it's not the place at all, it's the craic, the ticklist just as likely a list including casinos as cute animals. And if they didn't know what country they were in would be fine as well. It's the extraction of money for us as a state so who cares? If they don't want get out of cars all the better! might be a saving grace. Who cares if a camp site then costs a leg and needs booking two years in advance, we're saving country right. It's a theme park mentality get with it.
Of course, and sadly, there is no separation seen as needed or acknowledged between this herd approach for tourism outside wilderness for those fools green and brown who would seek to drive this further into parks let alone the gannets they facilitate. Quality gives way to quantity (of numbers or $), there is no middle ground. If there was Yellowstone wouldn't be a ready example to the aspiring world.
