It includes a wide variety of topics to help people get organised for their Overland Track walk, not just track notes for the walk itself. Some of the topics covered include:

- Gear, food, brief track notes, and references to other sources of information (including Bushwalk Tasmania, of course)
- Dealing with animals from possums to snakes, minimal impact walking, maps, etc

andTip: Even though Tasmania is a small State, travel times, rather than distance, are often important when planning your journey. It is a mountainous state and the roads are often narrow and very winding, average driving speed may be 60km per hour.
Non MSR cylinders are USUALLY available at the Information Centre at Cradle Mountain – ring and check they have supplies before you get there they DO RUN OUT.
The book is based on the experiences of Frank and other non-Tasmanians who've done the Overland Track many times between them, and coalesces and builds on many of the articles at Frank's 'Our Hiking Blog'.
