New lens

Postby farkewie » Mon 27 Sep, 2010 8:19 pm

Hi,

I have a Sony DSLR (A230 twin lens kit), I am happy with Sony and am looking at investing in a new lens for bushwalking photos. I'm am still very much a novice so what style/type of lens would you recommend and any other accessories?

It would be good to know which kit lenses you have. Also it depends what kind of photos (e.g. macro, landscape...)you want to take when you go on walks, and how much you want to carry.

and how much (roughly) you want to spend.

A good Ultrawide lens, like the Sigma 10-20, is always a nice addition, especially for those "big" scenes. Also a macro lens.
All good things are wild, and free.

Stick with the Sony Lenses if money allows (not cheap) the carl zeiss optics are hard to beat. Sigma do make good wide angles like drifting mentioned.
