Hi

Been playing with Tapatalk and had a few issues that I am wondering are of my making or common to iPhone users and this forum.

1st when I hit participated threads it returns an error.

2nd the search feature finds nothing.

3rd I find not all unread threads come up yet with the browser they are there.

Cheers

For the third issue, the "Unread" topics is within the "Latest" tab. So it's only showing recent topics. I'm not sure how recent, or how it decides which ones to display. No idea about the other two issues, but I'll just go and check to make sure the forums is running the latest version of the Tapatalk mod.

Issues one and two appear to be fixed now, after upgrading Tapatalk mod in the forums phpBB installation on the server.

Hi SOB

Me thinks that Tapatalk is using the date of the first post, not the last post in deciding how recent a thread is. Will keep and eye on it to see if my suspicion is correct.

Cheers

PS and thanks for the quick fix :D

My "Latest" tab works fine. Have you checked in the settings under "Latest Ordering" and "Unread Behavior"? Mine is set to "date" and "on" respectively.

Hi Sthughes

Yes mine is set the same way but I am wondering if the issue is loading behaviour, mine is set to oldest post. Now I think I set it that way to overcome the forum setting where I see the most recent posts first with is the reverse of the standard setup on the forum. Will set it to first unread post and see what effect that has.

Cheers

Um? Still having fun. Noticed that on the computer say twenty unread threads but on Tapatalk only one. It appears to clear the unread ones when you exit Tapatalk and only bring up ones that have new posts.

Curious behavior. Thanks though SOB for getting the participated search to work.

Cheers

Um? On the iPhone mark as all read and it does it for the computer do Tapatalk is using the forum metadata on posts.

I can't send PMs to more than one person at a time. It tells me a system parameter is missing .

Hi

The new update has a not nice feature where they have added icons on the bottom of the screen taking up valuable screen space. Also makes editing annoying as yet another thing to bump with big fingers.

Cheers.

I'm surprised you are still using it. Is there a reason why you don't just download forum-runner and move on?

Maybe because I not heard of the one you mentioned and only a few weeks ago Tapatalk was recommended on this site.

Until the cluttered screen of the "upgrade" was getting to quite like it. Never been prone to swap and switch unless the old product does something stupid and this update is stupid.

Cheers

Will have a look at the one you mentioned.

Maybe you've got more patience than Job! Certainly more patience than I have.

Actually I didn't find tapatalk too bad for a quick check of the forum on the odd occasion when I couldn't get near a bigger screen. ...but I don't have the patience (or the eye sight) to mess with the little screen and fiddly buttons.

Hi

Yes much prefer the big screen but still camped at Trout Creek it is handy. And yes Telstra works ok at the campsite and Optus is a no show.

Just wish I had not installed the update.

Love my iPhone which is no mean feat as Apple and me on the past never seem to click.

Cheers

Tapatalk crapped out on me several times yesterday, since it updated. Abnormal program termination. I sent the error reports through but doubt the good of it.

Yeap, same thing and about as much faith in the error reports being acted upon.
