Not familiar with that brand, but it appears to be one of the myriad of budget Chinese phone makers out there. It might be a good "tough" phone, but you'll find that the specs on that one a bit wanting.

It is only 3G, and does not do Optus' 900Mhz frequency (it looks like it will work on Telstra's 850Mhz/2100Mhz). The next thing is the very low 512 RAM - which on Android 4.4 might run the phone just ok. Android's KitKat optimised memory use for entry level 512Mb RAM devices, but that means using apps outside of texting and talking it might struggle. Not to mention the low onboard ROM memory which means your usuable storage for apps/photos/texts etc will be only around 2Gb.

You might find that there are cheaper entry level 4G Android phones out there, and you could get a "tough case" for them.

For example, I had a Huawei Y550 as a travel phone, and bought another one for a mate who was visiting from Canada. Got it from Vodafone, but paid for it to be unlocked. Handy cheap little 4G phone. My mate didn't end up needing it as their Canadian phone worked here anyway. So I've kept it as a spare in case of other visitors.

Better off with a second hand iPhone or Android with a Lifeproof/Otterbox case IMO.

MD I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 you are welcome to if you would be willing to get the broken screen repaired (approx. $130). No charger either but they are readily available and cheap.

Shame her corporate rate isn't available for spouses
