Soft Waterproof case for iPhone 6

Postby GazmanfromMelbourne » Mon 04 Apr, 2016 8:46 pm

I use my iPhone 6 for navigation with backup map and compass.

Can anyone suggest a source of a soft waterproof case for the iPhone 6 that will still allow the buttons to be worked while in the case, ideally with a lanyard?

Thanks

I've had good luck with my seal-line e-case, the zip top one. its been pretty durable, I keep my phone in it at work, and have been doing so for over a year now. Another option is the seal-line (or they might be hummingbird brand now) see-pouches, its a roll top with a clear vinyl panel. They should work, a bit more bulky, but a simpler closure.

Ortlieb makes some much cheaper and lighter splash proof soft cases for phones as well, they are a roller with velcro closure. Just depends on what you need as far as rugged and waterproof, as there is a range. The ortleib stuff should be available at cycle shops.

Lifeproof case - drop proof, waterproof (as long as the "o" ring is properly in place). Can use phone normally with it.

Although I'm not sure whether it fits your definition of "soft".

i use a catalyst waterproof case. not soft cover - kind of a hard rubber. has a lanyard. i never immerse my phone cos i'm slightly scared it will get drowned even with the case. but i have dropped it many times from about 1mtr height and my phone is still in perfect condition - as is the case. the two negatives of the case are: it's make the phone twice as bulky and when i have wet hands or it is raining on the case, i find the screen pretty hard to use.
