Can be pretty robust if you pair a robust phone case with it. There are quite a few around.

I have tried a few of these E-topo online orders. They worked fine.
Last one I got stuck with because the email with the download link got put into my Spam folder. The previous 2 were visible in my Inbox.
Their customer service folks helped me find it quickly.

I converted the geopdf to geotiff (conversion program found on OziExplorer website)
Opened geotiff in OziExplorer and calibrated (click on 4 corners and enter co-ords).
Then run "Image to ozf" from inside Ozi to end up with a much smaller and manageable file.
They load up and run nicely on HTC One with OziExplorer for Android.

I believe Oziexplorer uses the GDAL conversion utilities which, as far I can understand it, converts the map to a purely raster image rather than maintaining the vector data in the GEOpdf file.

Icefest - I use OZtopo maps on my Garmin Oregon 650, and the scale is supposed to be 1:25000. Used it in Lamington NP over Easter and seemed to be very accurate.

Oztopo is excellent. Just awfully expensive for those staying on a budget.

I might have to get it... as GPSG says it's very expensive.

Hmm, Just had a look at the sample.

Definitely currently the best Australia-wide raster map available.

It seems they've used the non hydro-forced version of the 1 second SRTM DEM data.
It's arguably the best Space-based DEM available currently (at least until next financial year, with the release of TanDEM).
Less artifacts at the expense of hydrological non-continuity.

GPSGuided wrote:Thanks Mark for sharing your experience. Yes, I can see the great benefits of being able to re-consitute a suitable map from multiple PDF sections. That's got to be the best reason for having eMaps.

Whilst using Avenza's PDF Maps app, I note that if one clicks on the current location icon, the map jumps to the summary map tile section of the document. Whilst the current location is also denoted on the topo section of the map, it defaults out to an irrelevant section of the PDF document. Annoying.

GPSGuided - I am also having this problem where the Avenza PDF Maps app is also displaying my location on the Green NSW State icon and the summary table of maps names - very annoying. Especially annoying when I went to add georeferenced photos (the yellow pins in the attached picture) from my iPhone to the map, it placed the photo locations onto the summary table of maps and not on the actual topo map.

I am fairly new to this stuff and was wondering if anyone knows how to turn off/disable the georeferencing for the green map of NSW and the table of map names?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I suspect a solution will have to come from Avenza.
