Remember that a quick squirt of Bushmans repellant onto a sacrificial outer plastic bag or anywhere is bound to assist. It sells in a small 130g container.

Hi Vagrom,
I try and stay away from bushman’s or anything else containing DEET. If it gets on things that’s plastic or synthetic it can stain or destroy it. Hence I’ll use an enclosure for food (old protein powder keg or bear canister) and a bug net for insects.

CurTec canyon kegs are robust, I have one of each size that I use for paddling. Best price I found was from this little shop, dimensions and weights listed too.

That's my little shop! They're an absolute bugger to keep in stock. I have spent a ridiculous amount of time over the years trying to find cost-effective ways to ship what is essentially mostly air from Europe to Australia. The best solution I've found is to have them go through a third party who fills them with small, higher value items. Even ordering a pallet of them coming via sea added a stupid amount to the price. It's like the Seinfeld episode where Newman and Kramer are trying to work out how to make money by taking empty bottles to a state that pays twice the container deposit refund, only I'm yet to find a half-empty mail truck driving from the Netherlands to Sydney! All that said, they really are impressive. I've seen packs take big falls and even people slip and fall on their pack, with the keg still waterproof and intact despite landing on rock. The only person I know who managed to destroy one sat a hot pot on it straight from the stove, with predictable results.
