TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.
Unless you are going to the snow I wouldn't bother. Any scrub quickly abrades the dwr off pants - jackets generally receive less abrasion. If it is important just use a cheap silicone spray.

I think my wife has sometimes used this on joggers or porous/breathable trail runners on the rare occasion that she does any bushwalking. https://www.kmart.com.au/product/footcare-weather-guard---125g/948353 But getting any useful feedback is like getting blood out of a stone. So I don't know how effective or long lasting but it's cheap, so might be worth a shot and just spot treat the area of concern.
