cheap dwr spray?

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

I only paid $30 for the pants so bit reluctant to spend $20 on a dwr respray.

Any cheap sources for dwr spray?

Unless you are going to the snow I wouldn't bother. Any scrub quickly abrades the dwr off pants - jackets generally receive less abrasion. If it is important just use a cheap silicone spray.

Sometimes you can find it in bulk bottles from the uk pretty cheap. But then it's a couple hundred bucks for the bulk pack.

Is a back pocket area that has non taped seams. Let in a bit of water last time.

Something like this?

I think my wife has sometimes used this on joggers or porous/breathable trail runners on the rare occasion that she does any bushwalking.

But getting any useful feedback is like getting blood out of a stone. So I don't know how effective or long lasting but it's cheap, so might be worth a shot and just spot treat the area of concern.

There is also this but it's unclear if suitable for fabrics:
