Baselayer suggestions comparable to MD Superdry fabric

With much excitement I welcomed MD going 'live' again, but alas, my favourite baselayer is no longer sold.
I live rurally so can't get to a lot of physical stores to compare products.

Anyone familiar with the MD Superdry range (tights and 1/4 zip tops as well as round neck) have any suggestions for products that are a somewhat similar fabric?

I need some new pants as my used and abused 2 x pairs although still going strong and totally workable as a sleep layer are too big and I need to keep hoisting them up at the waist and pulling them up my legs so they don't bunch. I wear them a whole lot and run in them and bushwalk in them with shorts over the top, even in summer. I need to find another brand.

Hi MsMudd,
I have a MD base layer without a name it just says that is 100% polyamide (nylon) and made in Spain- is this the 'superdry' one you are referring to?

It is a mixed synthetic blend, I added some pics here of the label and the fabric in a few different colours to better show the mix. I really like how the leggings feel on and regulate temp , with a pair of shorts over the top I nearly live in them.

good luck - polypro/polyester blend is uncommon.
If you want warm and breathable I can recommend macpac prothermals (polartec power grid) tights but my experience of tights is pretty limited as I generally get about in nylon trousers. If it is faarking cold I wear the prothermals. Toasty as, bro.

Hi ho.
Sounds like you may need some alternatives?
I am using the Pata Capilene LW. A t-shirt in M weighs in at 70gms, LS t in L at about 100 gms.
Hard to say just how good they are in both hot and cold temps. Just brilliant.
Clean top also for PJs.
Zapruda also recommended some Mont stuff but I can't remember which (search 'Zapruda Mont' perhaps)
same weight to the Patagonia which I would have more than happily purchased on his recommendation (every time he recommends me something it costs me money in the best possible way -such are his recommendations!) but like you I wanted to try it on (fit for me-I wanted one quite tight and one a wee bit looser) and a Patagonia Shop (in fact there are two physical shops near -take note! ha ha) is not too far away so I could try them on.
See if you can do do the reverse (free/discounted) post deal!
Might need the 'selling ice to Inuits' tone.

Wilderness Wear, an Australian brand makes all sizes including larger size Merino baselayers for a reasonable price. Just note there sizing is generous (going off there sizing chart) so if in doubt, pick the next size down, not up

Edit: There sizing is not standard

That's weird as I found the opposite, I had to send everything I just ordered back because I couldn't get them on ] Merino base layers in camouflage]

I got the standard black WW in 6XL because I'm a 52' chest, it's loose but only just long enough in the sleeve. I'm typically 2-3XL in the US brands.

I do have a parka here that will fit you tho, too big for me My beloved ordered it by mistake

EDIT: I see what you mean. According to there sizing chart, the larger sizes are generous but compared to standard sizing, they are small. First time I've ever bought a 6XL, never came close to that before.

Oh dear. Will check out Capilene from Patagonia. I dont mind merino to sleep in, but like a wicking synthetic for everything else. I am probably in the minority there though.

Wilderness wear merino baselayer is gold standard. We as a family have cleaned out their clearance stuff and never looked back. Short sleeve lonh sleeve, bittoms, midlayers, all great Oz made quality and so affordable on clearance

If you want something very light however the Uniqlo UL Airism polyester is good value when available

The airism looks good and probably light enough to do the trick for me. I just did ParkRun this morning in my MD superdry leggings...was hoisting em up the whole way and unbunching them from my knees. Time to take the plunge and buy some more. I just went through all my stuff and sold some stuff as bundle, so should have the funds to buy some more leggings, airism looks closest to fitting the bill so far.

Wow, those hoodies you linked to Moondog are a good price for a merino blend.
