Nice article but I really think the Chinese invented down insulated clothing, isn't it mentioned in Marco Polos writings?

Interesting article.

I'm amazed the British Empire was as successful (?) As it was with such gentlemen's blinkers firmly attached....

Though mixed results in exploration, lots of dead stiff upper lips.
