TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Titanium foil query Chimney size?

I really need to get my sled weight down a bit more. I am thinking of using Ti foil to replace the thick and heavy steel flue on my wood stove. Flue pipe is only 70mm in diametre so a circumference of ~220mm. How much overlap do you need to have a good draw on a rolled pipe?
There being a substantial difference in cost between the10" the 12" and the 16" foils from Titanium Goat
Being 70mm means unfortunately not being able to use TiGoat fittings

The one I have, from Ti Goat, was made for a 6cm diameter.
it is the 10 " (25cm) version so it has about 7 cm* of overlap (aprox circumpherence is 18 cm
I see no problem using it for a 7 cm diameter pipe.
Mine is 7' long , if you are interested you could make me an offer because I don't see myself using it anytime soon.
I used it for a few burns , hence the soot, but apart from some small kinks it still works as new.
A peculiar point is that it has a sort of memory. When you open it up it wants to become a pipe again.
I also have a stove jack but from memory you have one of those (?)
* I just measured the clean area, it is 8cm wide.

I could make that work I think. Would 50% of new cost be fair?
Money is a bit tight until February tho if that's OK

Did you get tired of country living?
Do you have a damper Franco?
If not I'll get one from TiGoat; I'll need one to stop the flue pipe from falling in. I figure I'll just plomp it inside the existing spigot and pack the gap a bit, I could use a nail but a damper may actually help the stoves performance, it gets too hot/burns too fast
