My Aarn Pacer 2 is for sale. It's a two person tent that uses trekking poles for support (as shown above). It's been seam-sealed, and I'll throw in a Tyvek footprint. I've had it for a few years, as my reserve tent. It's in excellent condition, having only been used 2 or 3 times. It was over $500 new, 'though I got it for less (on special). Now it's even cheaper, at $200 (posted, within Oz)! Tassie locals are welcome to have a look. PM for details.

The following specs. are from the Aarn website.

cheers

Peter

Very tempting whynotwalk. Is there just one entrance on this tent? And do you know which version Pacer is? It sounds like they've been updated a few times over the years.

Cheers

Hi Drew - I'll have to put it up to give you a definitive answer (which I'll do tonight). But from memory it has one entrance, and is the first version.

I'll confirm or otherwise later,

cheers

Confirmed Drew - one entrance, so presumably the first model,

Thanks Peter. I think I'll give it a miss. A lightweight 4 season tent at that price is very tempting, but I probably don't really need it. Maybe if it remains unsold for a while I'll change my mind!

Hi Peter,

Thanks for all the info. Very tempted indeed, and my poles should work. The current tent I take when walking with a buddy is 3.4+ kg (between the two of us). :( But i don't think the one entrance would work for us, so i'd better pass.

Very tempted myself but have to wait and check finances... What's it like to erect? Do the Pacer Poles work nicely with it?

No worries Tortoise. Good luck with your search.

And Wolfix, it's easy enough to pitch once you've done it a couple of times. I haven't got Pacer poles, but I'd be very surprised if they didn't work perfectly, given Aarn makes both.

Let me know what you reckon once you've done your financial check,

cheers

Actually Aarn does not make the Pacer poles, they are made in the UK
The pacer poles have a larger than average handle. The handles do fit in the little pockets on the Aarn tent but standard walking pole handles fit slightly better IMHO, I have an original pacer 2 tent and have tried both types
I would add that the Aarn tents are bombproof, comfortable and very easy to pitch..........Highly recommend this tent, I would suggest someone snap this up because it is a bargain at this price

Thanks for clearing that up bw - my mistake about the pacer pole's makers.

And thanks for the tent endorsement :D I agree, it's a bargain!
