It's raining in Hobart today. Even hail at times.

Just thought you might like to know.

Cool is it worth the trip tomorrow for photos? How are the roads? Will I need a tent or will there be room in the hotels? How much food will I need to bring?

How much experience have you had at overnight drives?

With respect, i'd suggest a few drives around the block before taking on a drive like this.

It does? Still... anyway... it's nice to know about the road closures etc. Yes, you can probably get the info on other sites, but I don't see anything wrong with this site playing a small role in providing this information to those who wish to know.

mod: this is probably the best place. The best way , or a better way, (IMO), is to actually discuss the problem (or perceived problem).

I take it you don't like lots of little reports on the weather?

Well, when every separate report is a separate thread, it does kind of clutter the place up unnecessarily. It would be neater to have one ongoing thread with people adding updates for whichever place they're interested in.

I agree (probably don't need separate threads). Stepbystep's suggestion was a good one. I will have a look at it soon.

Edit: The quickest, easiest way to get these things looked at is to submit a report. :D That way any of the moderation team will know there is a concern.

As a thought - There seem to be a number of "what's the weather like in 5 weeks" and "oooh it's snowing" threads that pop up.

Why not sticky that Snow Reports one, and re-title the thread "Post OLT/Cradle Mtn Weather Questions and Reports Here" or similar. Hopefully people will cotton on to ask their crystal ball weather questions in there? At least it would be an ongoing journal of possible weather conditions in the area.

Thanks! I will add this to the list of suggested improvement (as per here) and have a look at it. Can probably do something about this fairly quickly.
