Same image in every topic on mobile Safari

hmmm, when I view this on my phone i'm getting photos from the strollers forum pasted over it.. now thats just odd, don'tyathink??? All this odd stuff has been happening since those car camping adds were.. added

Very weird! Looks like a bug in the browser. Let us know how you get on after clearing the cookies, cache, etc. I'll split this off to it's own topic.

I'd be very interested to hear from anybody else who has experienced this odd behaviour, to try to identify some common cause. I can then take it up with either Apple or with phpBB.

That page is after clearing the cache Nik. It seems to grab the images from the first page I open then pretty random with where it puts them. It will be a pain if it spreads outside this forum but seems just to be bwa. I was offered tapatalk browser when I reopened but it doesn't sound ideal, might be a fix?

I'm not expecting to find much though, unfortunately, as it doesn't appear to be a widespread problem (I've not been able to find any other cases so far).

Yes, Tapatalk may be a good work around in the mean time (I'd recommend it anyhow).

Do you have a not-entirely-reliable or not-terribly-fast internet connection?

They reckon it's a Safari bug that only affects some sites, and some internet connections, due the way Safari does HTTP pipelining. See the link for more information. There's no real solution unfortunately, and it will require Apple to fix mobile Safari.

apparently it can randomly affect ANY browser that uses pipelining (not many browsers do though). In particular:

* It seems to be a problem on all browsers that has pipelining enabled
* Opera Mini does funky stuff on images by design so it’s a false positive
* iOS5 is overrepresented
* Opera on Android (And Symbian) has all kinds of issues.
* Native Android browser has issues, but at a much lower rate than iOS and Opera

However, it appears to be more likely on mobile Safari with iOS 5, more likely on poor internet connections, and more likely on some sites than on others.

Apparently a bug has been filed with Apple, but they're not taking action until somebody provides a guaranteed way of Apple being able to reproduced the problem, and that has not yet happened.
