May be of interest to the climbers among you...

A poll on whether Ben Lomond should or shouldn't have an abseil station installed... Go nuts.

Hi Moondog,

I'm not going to say what i voted and why, purely because I just wanted this to be another outlet for people within the climbing community to become aware of the poll, so the largest range of votes can be collected.
Also, if the debate began here I would be very surprised if it did not just decay into the same pile of insults and attacks that has become of all the other attempts to discuss the matter on the net.

You'll find a range of opinions in those two links, and that should give you an idea of what the situation is about. There's certainly some entertaining reading in there!

As a timid climber I am all for bomb proof protection and really solid rappel anchors but that is one flame war I'm not entering into

Anything more recent on the issue? - the links are from about 2007.
Cheers - Phil

There's bits and pieces on other threads on thesarvo. But the issues remain the same, there haven't been many changes since then.

tastrax - You could delve into the "Trashing Tassie thread on Chockstone.org - http://www.chockstone.org/Forum/Forum.a ... 99#NewPost

I wouldn't recommend it though, mainly a load of rubbish and name calling with a bit of info on Ben Lomond Rap Stations.
