MOVEMBER - member sponsor links here!!!

Postby Son of a Beach » Fri 05 Nov, 2010 2:02 pm

For anyone doing Movember, feel free add your link for people to sponsor you here.

I'll start (including the full blurb from the Movember web page that they like to have included in emails, etc):

This Movember I've decided to donate my face to raising awareness about men's health. My commitment is the growth of a moustache for the entire month of Movember, which I know will generate conversation, controversy and laughter.

I am doing this because close to 3,300 men die of prostate cancer in Australia each year and one in eight men will experience depression in their lifetime.

This is a cause I feel strongly about and I’m asking you to support my efforts by making a donation to me. To help, you can either:
Click this link http://au.movember.com/mospace/1084368/ and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account
• Write a cheque payable to Movember Foundation, referencing my registration number 1084368 and mailing it to: Movember Foundation, PO Box 292, Prahran, VIC, 3181

Through the Movember Foundation and its men’s health partners, PCFA and beyondblue: the national depression initiative, Movember is funding world class research, educational and support programs which would otherwise not be possible.

For more details on the impact Movember is having please visit: http://au.movemberfoundation.com/research-and-programs.

Thank you in advance for helping me to support men’s health.

As some may already know, I quite often sport a goatee anyhow (it's an on-again-off-again thing), but I've never had just a mo before, so I'm planning to shave off the rest, leaving just a long celtic mo for the rest of the month for a theme party next week. If I get any sponsors for MOVEMBER, then I'll leave just mo for the rest of the month.

So please sponsor me for Movember using this link! :-)

PS. I've currently raised ZERO dollars. It's a bit embarrassing, so please help out. ;-)

Ok, since I've now got sponsorship, I've done the deed. I'll have to post a photo to my Movember profile now.

Thanks! :)

Wow, that is VERY impressive! Even better than a local barrister in Launceston who nearly has to turn side ways to get through doors.

Makes mine look kind of ordinary:

(I'm going for the Stephen Lawhead's "Pendragon Cycle" look).

mine is kindda the "tennis-ball-look"

I reckon you just need a few gold chains and a pool scoop net.... maybe some tight shorts?

My wife said I look like a 70's or 80's cricketer. :-) I'll have to work on the gold chain.

I did cheat though... I'd had the goatee for a few weeks already, and just shaved off the middle bit. I've been planning this mo for a while now for a theme party next week (middle ages / medieval theme).

I like how guys doing movember tend to go the horseshoe style. it's like saying, "yes, im doing movember, caus there's no other reason I'd have this on my face!" it looks much more badass than the regular stache though

The other advantage of the horseshoe (AKA trucker, rock star, metal head) look, is that I can completely change it to another style in the middle of the month. I'm thinking of doing this.

Thanks to those who've sponsored me. I reckon every bit helps the cause (and makes me feel that looking like a nutter for an entire month is worthwhile). From the Movember web site...

In 2010 tragically more than 3,300 men will die as a direct result of prostate cancer.
