Paragliding

Hey all
just wondering if there's any forum members who also paraglide - in particular hike and fly?
Wondering how many years of active flying it took before you had the skills to able to start launching off non-official sites?
I've been thinking about doing my PG2 licence for a little while but am definitely more interested in the XC/ hike'n'fly aspects of it than staying site based - particularly after watching footage like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byeuMCxN12U
