Photography Exhibition

Postby tasadam » Sat 17 Jan, 2009 3:34 pm

You may have gathered by now that photography is a bit of a hobby of mine.
As seen in page 34 of today's advocate, next weekend (Australia Day long weekend) there is a photography exhibition in Stanley. I will be displaying about 25 of my finest. Quite a number of excellent photographs will be on display from others as well.
More can be read in the Advocate (17/1/09), or on this link - http://www.redbubble.com/people/anneoc/ ... ania-group
Cheers!

Hi Adam, some nice photos in your redbubble art. I won't be up there, but all the best for the exhibition.

Say gidday to Anne from Hobart P4P group. She makes the best chutney!

Sorry I missed you - I was there nearly all afternoon, got home not long ago.

For anyone that missed it, here is a link to the images I displayed in that exhibition.

It looks as though that was the first of an annual event.

Adam- I was the fat American guy with the little girl- she so liked Heath Holden's work that she insisted we go to the beach so I could teach her how to make panoramic photos. She really liked your photo with the mountain lit in the morning sun.

Was she the one who liked the pano of the night sky over the water (Heath's) so much that she cried?
I was about at that time, but only just - I missed that but saw (must have been your wife) leaving with the ducklings photo. Heath told me about it, so cute.

Well it's on again, and I've been flat out framing and mounting photos in preparation for the exhibition which is on THIS WEEKEND!!
Saturday 23rd through to Tuesday 26th January, 2010. Stanley town hall.
There will be 7 photographers displaying work this year, including myself.

More details to follow if I can get enough time to put the info together.

Cheers!

I went last year, and it was absolutely outstanding! There was some real first-class stuff there, and the photographers were all really happy to have a chat and give some advice. Not to mention it's a great excuse to go to Stanley.

I can't make it over the weekend, as I've got prior commitments, so it's Monday for us. But it'd be a great meeting event for BWT folks- lunch at the pub and an exhibition afterwards. Just an idea...

I'm planning on being there for most of the 4 days. Come and introduce yourselves to me if you can make it there.
Last year I was introduced to a shop down the road from the exhibition that make the most amazing Scallop pies.

Well my photos are framed and the exhibition is drawing near.
The photos I have printed and that will be on display can be previewed here.
That was a lot of work! All but 1 image is printed at 12x18" (450 x 300mm), and a 50mm matt around the frame, then a 50mm wide frame as well. So each piece total dimensions are about 650 x 500 mm. The frames are a real feature.

A bit of literature I will be putting up -
Photos and frames are available in a size to meet your requirements, from a standard 5x7” matted and mounted print to a very large artwork. The quality of my photography lends itself very well to large prints.

Frames are personally hand crafted from recovered Tasmanian timber and are of superb quality. Being timber, no frame is identical and each unique frame compliments the photography beautifully. Individual requests are catered for wherever possible.

Matt colours are available in a range of colours to suit your decor and to compliment the photograph.

Photographs are available with or without frames. Unframed photographs will be matted and mounted to Foam Board in a matt colour of your choice.

Freight can be arranged anywhere in Australia, contact me for a quote.
