tasmania's population

Is the population going up or down ? I know of many mainlanders who try to make the move ..they last a few years and move back over the pond.

Interesting thing I noticed when I was living around Deloraine in the late 80's - early 90's ..nearly all of the active green politically motivated people I met in tassie .. were from the mainland ..not native born Tasmanians. I wonder what that says about the social dynamics of Tasmania. Mike
