The National Parks Association of NSW is an amazing conservation organisation that has played a key role in protecting the wild places we all love so much.
They are currently offering a couple volunteer Intern Positions, based in the NPA office at Newtown (Sydney), which would provide a great opportunity for anyone wanting to build up their experience working in the environment / NGO sectors. I have put details of both positions below:
Research Officer:
to support a major campaign dedicated to protecting biodiversity and the public use of national parks.
The ideal candidate will have a background in, or the knowledge of environment and related social issues, be available 2-3 days per week for ten weeks and have a commitment to supporting the organisations core principles.
Tasks will include:
> Continuing research on existing issues
> Conducting literature research
> Monitoring and analysing media
> Providing content to support the campaign team
Communications and social media:
a dedicated communications enthusiast to support important campaign work that seeks to protect our national parks.
The ideal candidate will be available 2 - 4 days per week for ten weeks, have experience or knowledge of social media strategies and the skills to operate simple social media platforms.
Tasks will include:
> Supporting the campaign team's social media communications
> Build online audience participation in campaign discussions
> Managing requests for campaign materials
> Keeping website content up to date
> Managing data to keep our supporters up to date with the latest news on our campaigns
