All the clear felling and burning that has gone on, on the road in. All they had to do was leave a few metres to hide it from the road. They just don't care. I remember the first time I travelled the road south from Burnie to Queenstown. The road past Waratah turnoff to the Cradle Mtn link road was, I thought, pristine wilderness. Now you often get to see the true destruction of what's going on behind the tree border.
